The Condensation of A Cloud 2.0
Diversity · Order

The Condensation of a Cloud first emerged in London, UK in 2021, aiming to expand both the discursive and physical spaces of the art ecosystem. It explores the possibilities of interweaving, colliding, overlapping, and condensing in the cloud.

This exhibition, The Condensation of A Cloud 2.0, brings together 17 art practitioners, reuniting in Beijing after three years. The artists, like dust and particles in the cloud, engage in a dynamic process of gathering, dispersing, and colliding, sparking dialogue and reflection for the audience. This exhibition goes beyond the exploration of physical space; it also expands discursive space—an interaction with the artists’ thoughts and works through artist-led curation. The participating artists hail from diverse cultures and regions, collectively building a platform for inclusive dialogue.

At present, Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) is rapidly transforming the methods, forms, and content of art creation. With the theme of ‘Diversity · Order’, this exhibition features various media in contemporary art practice: photography, painting, video, sculpture, installation, ceramics, glass, sound, and more. It juxtaposes ‘non-AI’ art practices with the evolving relationship between AIGC and contemporary art, seeking a new balance between technology and the humanities. We employ an innovative curatorial approach where AIGC reproduces artists' works and coexists alongside them. The curatorial team has gathered the artists’ creative concepts, input them into AI tools, and allowed the technology to regenerate corresponding works. This dialogue is not merely a collision between technology and art but also a discussion on the redefinition of the artist’s role. The exhibition creates a diverse and inclusive space, revealing the subtle and complex relationship between current technology and art.
